Wignall Workshop

You’ve Got Your Art in My English Class:

Integrating the Wignall Museum into Your Courses

The Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art provides a unique opportunity for students to enter a living lab where contemporary art, social issues, and critical thinking meet. From explorations of immigration, race, and gender to the politics of food production and the prison-industrial complex, the photography, paintings, videos, and sculptures of the Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art challenge students to analyze themselves and the world around them more critically. For students in any class, but writing courses in particular, the museum offers a wide range of visual texts to analyze and debate. This presentation will provide practical advice on planning your class visit, developing writing assignments, and the benefits to students.
